SM1.3R — Now Featuring R2R Second-Generation DAC Platform

SM1.3R features the second generation of Shanling’s in-house developed DAC, a true high-end solution previously released with the Shanling SCD3.3 SACD player.

Its upgraded R2R assembly utilises 212 0.01% extremely accurate resistors for the 24-bit DAC module, utilising a 19-bit architecture with a 4-bit compensating code and an assistive push-pull differential circuit.

Offering smooth and natural R2R sound with true high-fidelity precision and clarity.

Eliminating the digital roughness of Delta-Sigma DACs, the R2R brings sound that floats smoothly and with seamless transitions, capturing the deeper warmth and softness of the music.

Creating a special system of power division between the Streamer and Audio sections of the SM1.3R, eliminating any harmful interference between the two halves of the device.

Pair of custom-made linear transformers offer extremely low noise and high efficiency, with an extra potting process assuring even further reduction of unwanted vibrations.

Linear power supply is especially crucial for the analog section of the SM1.3R, providing cleaner and more stable power than one can get from a switching power supply. As a dedicated Hi-Fi Streamer, this improved power is important for true high-fidelity sound.

Adopting advanced ACCUSILICON 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz clocks for better accuracy and enhanced performance when decoding high-resolution music, supported by Shanling’s AGLO system for bit-perfect sound performance even on Android.

Both the system and its XMOS USB input support Hi-Res up to 32 bit / 768 kHz and DSD512.

Analog Output

With two dedicated circuits, MUSES8920 provides the clean line-out signal for any external amplifier or powered speakers, while the dedicated TPA6120 amplifier takes care of headphone listening directly from the SM1.3R.
