The Shanling M8T Copper takes Shanling's flagship tube-equipped digital audio player and gives it an even more distinctive premium construction. Produced in limited quantities, the Copper edition replaces the standard M8T chassis with a single-piece copper body finished in a rich red copper colour and protected by a durable anti-oxidation coating.

The substantial copper construction increases the weight of the M8T from 383g to 549g, giving the player an unmistakably solid and luxurious feel in the hand.

More than a Cosmetic Upgrade

The Copper edition isn't simply a different colour. Shanling's use of copper provides greater chassis density and improved shielding characteristics, resulting in subtle changes to the M8T's sound while retaining the same flagship audio architecture that makes the standard model so capable.

Flagship Level Tube Sound

At the heart of the M8T are two JAN6418 vacuum tubes, allowing it to deliver the rich, engaging character of tube amplification from a portable flagship player.

Three selectable output modes allow the M8T to adapt its presentation to your preferences. Choose between transistor output for a cleaner and more direct presentation, Triode tube mode for a warmer and smoother sound, or Ultra-Linear mode for a balance between tube character, dynamics and control.

Over the past 37 years, the magical sound of tubes has been featured in many Shanling CD players and amps, but the M8T brings it into a portable DAP for the first time. A pair of low-voltage and power-efficient JAN6418 tubes suspended in a custom-designed anti-shock structure eliminates any microphonics, adding extra charm to the M8T's sound.

The audio circuit can be run in a pure transistor mode (avoiding the tube output), triode and ultra-linear modes, offering three distinctive sound profiles:

• Transistor - dynamic and hard-hitting
