HiFiMAN HE1000 WiFi Streaming Media Planar Headphones

The HiFiMAN HE1000 WiFi brings together flagship-level planar magnetic headphone technology and high-resolution wireless streaming in a completely integrated listening system. Rather than depending on an external streamer, DAC and headphone amplifier, the HE1000 WiFi incorporates the complete digital playback chain directly into the headphones, offering genuine freedom from the traditional desktop Hi-Fi stack.

At the heart of the system is HiFiMAN's HYMALAYA Mini R2R DAC, developed specifically to deliver high-quality digital conversion with the efficiency required for a battery-powered headphone. Dedicated onboard amplification then drives the planar magnetic transducers directly, allowing HiFiMAN to optimise the conversion, amplification and driver stages as one complete system. 

The HE1000 WiFi uses HiFiMAN's Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm, together with Enhanced Magnet and Stealth Magnet technology. The exceptionally lightweight planar diaphragm is designed for fast transient response and fine detail retrieval, while the carefully shaped magnetic structure helps reduce interference as sound waves travel through the driver.

Where the HE1000 WiFi really distinguishes itself from conventional wireless headphones is its integrated WiFi streaming. WiFi offers significantly greater bandwidth than Bluetooth, allowing lossless and high-resolution music to be delivered directly to the headphones over your network. Supported digital formats extend from PCM 44.1kHz all the way to PCM 768kHz, with native DSD64 through DSD512 also supported. 

For greater flexibility, the HE1000 WiFi can also operate over Bluetooth or USB Audio. Bluetooth compatibility includes SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC, while USB provides a direct digital connection to compatible computers and mobile devices. This means the headphones can move easily between convenient everyday wireless listening and high-resolution network or USB playback. 

Battery life is rated at approximately 6.5–7.5 hours in WiFi mode and up to 23 hours when using Bluetooth, with a charging time of approximately three to four hours. Despite incorporating its own streamer, DAC, amplification and battery system, the HE1000 WiFi weighs approximately 452g. 

By combining the open-back planar magnetic architecture of the HE1000 family with a fully integrated digital playback system, the HiFiMAN HE1000 WiFi offers a genuinely different approach to high-end headphone listening: high-resolution audio, without being physically tethered to a conventional DAC and amplifier setup.
