Premium Portable Audio with Eight DACs

The Shanling UA6 II is a compact USB DAC and headphone amplifier designed to deliver high-end audio performance from smartphones, tablets and computers.

Its advanced audio architecture uses eight Cirrus Logic CS43131 DACs, providing a highly detailed and natural presentation with excellent stability and resolution. Users can switch between four-DAC and eight-DAC modes directly from the device, allowing the UA6 II to adapt to different listening requirements. 

Powerful 4.4mm Balanced Output

The UA6 II provides both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, making it compatible with a wide range of earphones and headphones.

Its 4.4mm balanced output delivers up to 365mW at 32 ohms, while the 3.5mm output provides up to 107mW at 32 ohms. This gives the UA6 II enough power for many full-size headphones while remaining carefully optimised for sensitive in-ear monitors.

Selectable low and high gain modes, precise volume adjustment and an output impedance below 0.5 ohms make it easy to match the DAC to different headphones. 

High-End Audio Performance

The eight-DAC arrangement allows the UA6 II to achieve a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 133dB through the balanced output, alongside a dynamic range of 133dB.

The 3.5mm output provides a signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range of up to 128dB. Low noise and distortion help preserve small details within the recording while providing a clean background for sensitive earphones. 

High-Resolution PCM and DSD Playback

The UA6 II supports PCM audio at resolutions up to 768kHz/32-bit, alongside native DSD playback up to DSD512.

This broad format support allows it to handle standard streaming audio, lossless music libraries and high-resolution recordings without limiting the quality of the source material. The OLED screen displays the active audio format and sampling rate while music is playing. 

OLED Display and On-Device Settings

A 0.95-inch OLED display provides clear access to playback information and the UA6 II’s adjustable settings.

The side-mounted multifunction volume wheel is used for smooth volume adjustment and menu navigation. Important settings can be changed directly on the DAC and remain stored when moving between different phones, tablets or computers. 

Eddict Player Companion App

The optional Shanling Eddict Player app provides another way to access the UA6 II’s settings.

On compatible Android devices, the app can also assist with bit-perfect audio output. Windows 10 and Windows 11 users can use the companion software to manage settings and install firmware updates. 

UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 Modes

The UA6 II supports both UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 USB modes.

UAC 2.0 provides full high-resolution audio support for compatible smartphones and computers. UAC 1.0 offers broader compatibility with devices such as Nintendo Switch consoles, older computers and certain power-limited sources. 

Compact Premium Construction

Despite its advanced eight-DAC architecture, the UA6 II remains compact enough for everyday portable use.

Its aluminium chassis and tempered-glass front panel provide a premium finish while keeping the weight to approximately 30.8g. Measuring just 62 × 30 × 13.5mm, it can be carried easily alongside a phone without adding excessive bulk.

The UA6 II is available in three finishes and uses styling inspired by Shanling’s flagship UA7 portable DAC. 

Flexible USB-C Connectivity

The removable USB-C connection allows the supplied cable to be replaced with a longer cable or one designed for a different source device.

A high-purity oxygen-free copper USB-C cable and USB-A adapter are included. Shanling’s optional L3 Lightning cable is required for older Apple devices using a Lightning connection, while Windows computers may require Shanling’s USB audio driver.
