True DSD & MQA-CD Playback
The SCD3.3 supports FPGA-assisted IS output with 10 selectable modes, offering Native DSD to almost any 12S-capable DAC. Coaxial SPDIF output provides DoP DSD64 compatibility. Additionally, it functions as a full MQA-CD decoder, delivering 4x unfolded playback for maximum resolution. Standard CDs, SACDs, and hybrid discs can all be played, with seamless switching between CD and SACD layers. (Note: multichannel SACDs are not supported.)
Second-Generation R-2R DAC
Equipped with Shanling’s second-generation R-2R platform, the SCD3.3 integrates 212 ultra-precision 0.01% resistors in a 24-bit DAC module. Utilising a 19-bit architecture with a 4-bit compensating code and a push-pull differential circuit, it produces smooth, natural, and highly detailed analogue sound with exceptional clarity.
Tube & Solid-State Hybrid Output
The SCD3.3 continues Shanling’s legacy of tube-based audio character with a pair of 12AT7 tubes driving both RCA and XLR outputs. Paired with the OPA1612 low-pass filter and MUSES8920E operational amplifier on the output stage, this hybrid design delivers a smooth, rich, and transparent sound. All tubes are carefully matched and tested for each unit.
Precision Circuitry & Stable Power
The SCD3.3 features dual active crystal oscillators—90/98 MHz for the FPGA and 45/49 MHz for the XMOS section—ensuring minimal jitter and precise signal transmission. Multi-stage tuning with top-grade ELNA, Nichicon, and Panasonic capacitors optimizes audio paths. Dual R30 transformers provide 66W of stable, low-noise power for consistent high-fidelity performance.
Premium Build & Intuitive Interface
Constructed from a solid 9.5 mm CNC-machined aluminium chassis, the SCD3.3 minimises vibration and electromagnetic interference. A top-loading drive with a precision-weighted CD puck ensures stable disc reading. The 5-inch touchscreen offers an intuitive in-house interface, while a dedicated tube display provides a direct view of the glowing 12AT7 tubes, marrying aesthetics with functionality.
