FiiO Jade Audio JT9 Over Ear Headphones

The FiiO JT9 are open-back planar magnetic headphones designed to deliver the speed, detail and expansive presentation associated with large planar drivers while remaining surprisingly lightweight and easy to use.

At the heart of the JT9 is a large 95 × 86mm planar magnetic driver developed to move a substantial diaphragm area with excellent control. The ultra-thin diaphragm uses FiiO's dual-coating technology to combine low moving mass with increased rigidity, helping the driver respond quickly to changes in the music while retaining fine detail.

Large Planar Magnetic Driver

The JT9's 95 × 86mm planar driver provides a large radiating surface capable of producing a spacious and immersive presentation. Rather than using a conventional dynamic driver, the planar design distributes the driving force across the diaphragm for more even movement and controlled reproduction.

Its open-back construction allows air to move freely around the driver, helping create a more natural sense of space and separation between instruments.

Ultra-Thin Dual-Coated Diaphragm

FiiO uses an exceptionally thin diaphragm together with a sapphire and aluminium dual-coating process. The design aims to retain the low mass required for fast transient response while adding the rigidity needed for accurate diaphragm movement.

This combination helps the JT9 reproduce subtle changes in a recording with speed and precision without sacrificing the sense of scale expected from a large planar headphone.

Uniform Magnetic Field Design

A carefully engineered magnetic structure creates a more uniform magnetic field across the diaphragm. By applying driving force more evenly across its surface, the JT9 is designed to reduce unwanted distortion and maintain consistent control throughout the driver's movement.

The result is a planar headphone designed around both technical accuracy and an engaging, natural listening experience.

High Sensitivity, Easier to Drive

With a rated sensitivity of 95dB/mW, the JT9 has been designed to be more accessible than many traditional planar magnetic headphones.

While a dedicated headphone amplifier can still help you get the most from them, their relatively high sensitivity gives the JT9 greater flexibility across desktop and portable audio systems.

Lightweight and Foldable

Large planar headphones can often be heavy, but the JT9 weighs approximately 365g. The lightweight construction helps reduce fatigue during longer listening sessions, while the folding design makes the headphones easier to store or transport when not in use.

This gives the JT9 an unusual combination of large-driver planar performance and everyday practicality.

Balanced and Single-Ended Cables Included

FiiO includes both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone cables with the JT9.

The 3.5mm cable provides broad compatibility with conventional headphone outputs, while the supplied 4.4mm balanced cable allows the JT9 to connect directly to balanced headphone amplifiers, DAC/amps and compatible digital audio players without requiring an additional cable.
