Cayin N7+ Digital Audio Player

The Cayin N7+ is a high-end Android-based digital audio player designed for listeners who want desktop-grade audio architecture in a portable format.

At the heart of the N7+ is Cayin’s fully balanced discrete 1-bit resistor network DSD DAC, designed around a pure 1-bit DSD audio architecture. This is supported by Cayin’s FPGA-based audio bridge, which handles re-clocking, de-jittering and re-shaping, while also supporting PCM-to-DSD512 conversion.

The N7+ uses a fully discrete 4-channel balanced headphone amplifier section, with selectable Class A and Class AB operation. Power output is rated at 330mW from the 3.5mm single-ended headphone output and 690mW from the 4.4mm balanced output, giving the N7+ strong compatibility with a wide range of IEMs and headphones.

For system performance, the N7+ is built around a Snapdragon 665 platform with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and a customised Android 12 operating system. Google Play is preinstalled, allowing access to compatible streaming and music apps, while the included Cayin Music and HiBy Music apps support serious local playback.

The player includes a 5-inch 1080 × 1920 TFT multi-point touchscreen, 2.4GHz / 5GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and microSD card support up to 1TB. Bluetooth support includes LDAC, UAT, AAC and SBC for both transmit and receive use.

Connectivity is extensive, with 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs, line out and pre-out support, USB audio in/out, USB DAC mode, I²S output via Mini HDMI and S/PDIF coaxial output via USB-C. This makes the N7+ suitable not only as a portable player, but also as a digital transport, USB DAC and compact source for larger Hi-Fi systems.

A 9000mAh battery provides up to approximately 13 hours of playback from the 3.5mm output in Class AB mode, with PD2.0 fast charging support for quicker top-ups. The sandblasted CNC aluminium chassis gives the N7+ a premium feel while keeping the design robust and portable.
