The Cayin CP6 is a premium portable CD player designed for listeners who want the tactile experience of physical CDs with the flexibility of a modern Hi-Fi source. Combining vacuum tube sound, solid-state precision, Bluetooth connectivity and powerful headphone output, the CP6 is built as a compact all-in-one CD player for both portable and home listening.

At its heart, the CP6 uses a pair of JAN6418 NOS vacuum tubes, allowing users to enjoy a classic tube sound with warmth, smoothness and vocal richness. Alongside this, the CP6 also offers Modern and Solid-State sound modes, giving listeners three selectable timbres to suit different music styles and listening preferences.

The CP6 is not just a CD player. It also works as a USB DAC and Bluetooth audio device, with support for Bluetooth 5.4 and high-quality codec options. With CD, USB and Bluetooth input support, it can fit easily into a modern audio setup while still keeping CD playback at the centre of the experience.

For headphone users, the CP6 includes both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs, powered by a discrete fully balanced headphone amplifier architecture. It is designed to work with a wide range of headphones, from easier-to-drive portable models to more demanding full-size headphones.

Cayin has also included dual power modes, allowing the CP6 to run from its internal battery for portable use or from external USB-C power in DC mode for higher output and longer listening at home. Modern mode provides greater clarity and a wider soundstage for a more open presentation. Solid-State mode delivers a cleaner, faster and more transparent sound for listeners who want maximum detail.

Tube Sound in a Portable CD Player

Using a matched pair of JAN6418 NOS vacuum tubes, the CP6 brings genuine tube character to portable CD playback. The tube section is designed to add warmth, body and musical smoothness, especially useful for vocals, acoustic recordings and relaxed long-session listening.

Powerful Headphone Output

The CP6 includes both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs. In DC mode, the balanced output can deliver up to 1100mW @ 32Ω, giving the player enough power for a wide range of headphones and IEMs.

Modern Connectivity

Alongside traditional CD playback, the CP6 supports USB DAC use, Bluetooth input and Bluetooth output. This makes it suitable for use with phones, computers, wireless headphones, powered speakers or a wider Hi-Fi system.
