MEET THE DX340
A limited titanium DX340 with discrete PWM DACs, FPGA Master 3.0, -119dB THD+N and up to 2150mW per channel.
16 groups of 8E PWM DACs under FPGA Master 3.0 control achieve THD+N as low as -119dB.
A limited-edition titanium housing with a replaceable AMP15 headphone amplifier card.
Up to 2150mW per channel at 32Ω, 12V external power support, Android 13 and Mango OS.
The iBasso DX340 Limited Titanium Edition is iBasso’s flagship player in a CNC-machined titanium body. Inside is iBasso’s own discrete DAC: 128 PWM DAC elements controlled by FPGA-Master 3.0, with THD+N as low as −119dB, on a par with flagship discrete desktop DACs. It comes with a modified AMP15 amplifier card that gives up to 2,150mW per channel into 32Ω when run from the supplied 12V adapter, alongside iBasso’s patented dual-battery design, Android 13 and Mango OS.

The housing is CNC-machined titanium, even more corrosion-resistant and harder than 316 stainless steel, and more stable with better acoustic performance than aluminium alloy. Polished and engraved, it gives a luxurious texture an aluminium housing cannot match. The rear case is removable.

The FPGA generates a PWM signal and the discrete DAC decodes it. The DX340 uses 16 cascaded groups of 8E PWM DACs, 32 elements for each of L+, L−, R+ and R−, more than 6.4 times as many as other portable discrete DACs. With that number of elements and FPGA-Master 3.0’s picosecond control, noise is far lower than in other discrete designs and THD+N reaches −119dB.

FPGA-Master 3.0, built on years of iBasso’s own algorithms, has 7.5 times the logic of FPGA-Master 2.0. As the audio master it requests audio straight from the processor and, with two Accusilicon femtosecond oscillators (phase noise only −158dBc/Hz at 1kHz), runs a fully synchronised single clock source with picosecond precision to minimise jitter. It also adds harmonic tuning: add even harmonics for a warmer, valve-like flavour, or odd harmonics for a more passionate, energetic sound.

With a single battery under heavy load, digital and analogue circuits can interfere and add distortion. iBasso’s patented dual-battery design (patent ZL202020682917.5) powers the digital and amplifier sections from separate batteries, keeping the amplifier supply stable and isolated from digital interference. Charging and battery level are managed together and shown as a single icon, and on a charger with enough power the DX340 runs from the external supply.

The Titanium Edition comes with a modified AMP15 card as standard. Connect the 12V DC supply and the amplifier rails rise from ±8V to ±12V, activating S-level gain with up to 2,150mW + 2,150mW into 32Ω, so large-scale classical works and simpler pop alike are rendered with layering and resolution. The DX340 also takes iBasso’s AMP12, AMP13, AMP14 and other AMP1x cards, each with its own character; the AMP15 works only in the DX340.

A Snapdragon 665 with 8GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage keeps the system smooth, with microSD expansion up to 2TB. Android 13 runs your streaming apps and bypasses sample-rate conversion system-wide, for Mango Player and third-party apps alike; Mango OS is a closed, Linux-based system dedicated to music playback, with lower processor load and no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth interference.

The 6.0-inch 1080 × 2160 AMOLED screen has narrow bezels, deep blacks and a contrast ratio in the millions, and uses less energy than an LCD. A professional USB bridge chip makes the DX340 a USB DAC with PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512, with latency low enough for films and games.
