The FiiO AIR AMP brings streaming, hi-res decoding and high-power amplification together in one palm-sized box, so you can replace a shelf of decoders, amplifiers, streamers and tangled cables, and bring your classic passive speakers into the streaming era. It streams over Roon Ready, AirPlay and QPlay, plays from a NAS or USB drive, works as a USB DAC, and drives speakers with 120W + 120W from a TI TPA3255 amplifier with PFFB feedback, in a box just 207mm wide. It is Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified.
Streaming and your own library
Stream from your favourite services and apps with Roon Ready, AirPlay and QPlay, or play your own collection straight from USB flash drives, portable hard drives or a NAS on your home network, browsing and choosing tracks in the FiiO Control app. A gigabit Ethernet port keeps the connection stable, and dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi lets you place it wherever you like.
TI TPA3255 with PFFB: 120W + 120W
The TPA3255 is a proven class D amplifier chip with ultra-low distortion and high efficiency. With the included 48V/5A adapter it gives 120W per channel into 4Ω (90W into 8Ω), enough for most bookshelf speakers and small to medium floorstanders without taking up space; a 48V/10A adapter raises it to 235W + 235W into 4Ω. PFFB (post-filter feedback) corrects the output in real time, significantly reducing distortion for a pitch-black background and consistent sound across speakers of different impedances.
A hi-fi decoding chain
An XMOS XU316 16-core USB chip and a dedicated ESS ES9020Q DAC handle the digital side, followed by I/V and filter stages, an NJW1194 volume control and buffers, optimised from digital decoding to power output for low distortion and high dynamic range. Over USB it plays up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD512. Imported audio components, including four ELNA coupling capacitors, two 2,200µF Nichicon reservoir capacitors and four WIMA film capacitors, give cleaner power, lower losses and a purer background.
Seven inputs, three outputs
Inputs cover USB (768kHz/32-bit, DSD512), coaxial (192kHz, DSD64), optical (96kHz), Bluetooth 5.2 (LDAC, SBC), an analogue line input with two sensitivity settings, local USB playback and network streaming. Outputs are the speaker terminals, a subwoofer output for a 2.1 system and a line/pre output for a headphone amp or another system.
Tune it to your room
Choose a built-in EQ preset, or use AutoEQ and the 10-band high-precision PEQ in the FiiO Control app or FiiO’s web interface; separate bass and treble controls are also built in. Control everything from the front knobs and 1.1-inch display, the included infrared remote or the app.
