FiiO K13 Desktop DAC and AMP with Dual Channel ES9039Q2M DACs

The FiiO K13 is a powerful desktop DAC and headphone amplifier designed to act as the centre of a modern headphone or Hi-Fi setup. Combining dual flagship ESS ES9039Q2M DACs, a fully balanced amplifier architecture and up to 2400mW + 2400mW of balanced output power, it offers substantial performance for everything from sensitive IEMs to demanding full-size headphones.

With high-resolution USB decoding, LDAC Bluetooth, XLR and RCA outputs, advanced parametric EQ and both AC and DC power options, the K13 brings together extensive connectivity and powerful amplification in a compact desktop design.

Dual Flagship ES9039Q2M DACs

The K13 uses two of ESS's latest-generation ES9039Q2M DAC chips.

Built around ESS's fourth-generation 32-bit HyperStream architecture, the dual-DAC design is engineered to reduce digital noise while delivering high dynamic range and low distortion.

FiiO specifies a dynamic range of 130dB and THD+N of -120dB for the DAC section.

High-Resolution Desktop Audio Hub

The K13 supports PCM audio up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD512 through its USB input, making it suitable for high-resolution music playback from a PC, Mac or other compatible digital source.

Its wide selection of inputs and outputs also allows the K13 to operate at the centre of a larger desktop or Hi-Fi system.

10-Band PEQ with Auto EQ

Built around the XMOS XU316 platform, the K13 features a specially developed 10-band parametric EQ system across its operating modes.

FiiO's Auto EQ functionality can be used to match a target headphone curve automatically before allowing further manual fine-tuning.

PEQ settings can be adjusted through the FiiO Control app, while a web-based interface is also available when using USB input. EQ processing supports audio signals up to PCM 192kHz/24-bit.

Fully Balanced Amplifier Architecture

The entire audio chain uses fully differential signal processing, including the DAC stage, I/V conversion, low-pass filtering, preamp buffer and headphone amplification.

This architecture is designed to provide strong interference rejection, low distortion and high dynamic range.

The amplifier section also includes dedicated gain control, headphone protection and POP-noise suppression.

Up to 2400mW + 2400mW Output

The K13 delivers up to 2400mW + 2400mW into a 32Ω load through its balanced headphone output.

Three selectable gain levels and separate volume curves help the K13 work effectively with a wide range of IEMs and headphones, while headphone and preamp volume settings can be remembered independently.

Dual AC and DC Power Options

A built-in 30W power module allows the K13 to run directly from mains power, while a separate 12V DC input gives users the option of connecting a compatible external power supply.

FiiO specifies an external supply requirement of 12V/2.5A or greater using a 5.5 × 2.1mm connector.

Internally, the K13 uses up to 18 low-noise LDO regulators and five DC-DC converters as part of its multi-rail power architecture.

Audiophile-Grade Components

FiiO has equipped the K13 with a selection of premium internal components, including four ELNA RA3 series silk-film audio capacitors, eight WIMA film capacitors, 24 low-temperature-drift MELF resistors and dual ACCUSILICON AS318-L femtosecond crystal oscillators.

Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC

Bluetooth 5.4 provides convenient wireless playback with support for LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs.

LDAC allows compatible devices to transmit higher-resolution audio wirelessly, making the K13 equally suited to convenient everyday playback and wired high-resolution listening.

High-Contrast LCD Display

A custom high-contrast LCD clearly displays important information including sample rate, volume, gain and output mode.

The display is designed for long-term use and can remain continuously illuminated without the burn-in concerns associated with some other display technologies.

Premium Aluminium Design

The K13 uses a thickened unibody aluminium alloy chassis with FiiO's new “skylight” design, providing a visual window into the internal DAC section.

Adjustable RGB lighting can indicate the current audio sample rate, with customisable brightness, colour and lighting effects.
