Shanling HW600 High-End Planar Headphones

The Shanling HW600 is Shanling’s first full-size headphone: a high-end, open-back planar magnetic design with a large 110 × 86mm diaphragm. Its triangular earcups take their shape from bamboo joints, the frame is aircraft-grade aluminium, and lambskin pads keep it comfortable for long sessions. At 30Ω and 104dB it is easier to drive than many planars, so it suits good portable players as well as desktop amplifiers.

Inspired by bamboo

The design draws on traditional bamboo craftsmanship, bringing the look of bamboo joints into the distinctive triangular earcups. The open back gives an expanded, immersive soundstage and keeps the HW600 comfortable for fatigue-free listening.

Aircraft-grade aluminium

The HW600 is machined mainly from aircraft-grade 7xxx-series aluminium, with stainless steel reinforcing the headband: a combination that makes it light and very durable, with full-metal construction built to last.

Premium materials, premium comfort

Lambskin earpads, soft and delicately textured, fit snugly around your ears, and an asymmetrical design sets the drivers at the ideal angle for both sound and comfort. Soft foam padding and a lambskin headband, with an ergonomic, multi-adjustable fit, spread the pressure evenly across your head.

A 110mm diaphragm

The oversized 110 × 86mm diaphragm is made of an ultra-thin 8µm polymer, extending the response from the deepest lows to the highest highs. High tension across the diaphragm adds extra depth, clarity and dynamics.

Silver-plated aluminium coil

The coil is precisely arranged and shaped for ideal alignment with the diaphragm, for absolutely horizontal distribution and even pressure. A nano-level silver coating on the aluminium trace improves conductivity and sensitivity, for higher resolution.

Dual-sided magnets

Fourteen neodymium-iron-boron magnets in a dual-sided assembly drive the diaphragm linearly and evenly, reaching a magnetic flux density of up to 1.8T. The efficient system makes the HW600 easy to drive and suitable for a wide range of amplifiers, with 104dB sensitivity at 1kHz and 30Ω impedance.

Single-unit driver, dual acoustic chambers

A special single-unit driver structure with dual acoustic chambers lets Shanling fully optimise the driver, reducing distortion and matching its target sound tuning more closely.

A quad-core single-crystal copper cable

The 1.5m cable of quad-core single-crystal copper is designed for a transparent sound while staying soft and easy to manage, and its 4.4mm balanced plug connects directly to balanced headphone amplifiers. On the headphone side, standard dual 3.5mm sockets make the HW600 compatible with many third-party cables for easy replacement or upgrades.

The HW600 is certified Hi-Res Audio by the Japan Audio Society, with a frequency range up to 40kHz for high-resolution files.

• The supplied cable ends in a 4.4mm balanced plug. For a 3.5mm or 6.35mm output, use an adapter or another dual 3.5mm cable.
