MEET THE ONIX
A modernised CD player with a Philips CD80 drive, AKM AK4493EQ DAC, Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB DAC input.
A Philips CD80 drive and Sanyo HD870 laser get the most from your CDs.
The AK4493EQ DAC with MUSE8920 filters in vibration-damping wooden boxes.
Bluetooth 5.0 streaming and an XMOS USB input up to 768kHz and DSD256.
The ONIX CD15A is a full-size CD player modernised for today, with two clear goals: to sound even better using the latest hi-fi components, and to fit into modern life with new ways to connect. A Philips CD80 drive reads discs reliably, an AKM AK4493EQ DAC gives a natural, smooth sound, and it adds a USB DAC input up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD256, an optical input and Bluetooth 5.0 for your phone.
The Philips CD80 disc mechanism, with a Sanyo HD870 laser and a new servo circuit, reads discs stably and reliably to get the full potential from your CD collection.

The AKM AK4493EQ DAC offers a beautifully natural, smooth sound. For the low-pass filter ONIX chose MUSES8920D op-amps and fitted them with small wooden covers, for their effect on the sound and to reduce vibration. Large-capacity Nichicon KG capacitors (up to 6,800µF/25V) serve the analogue circuit, and an R-core transformer keeps magnetic leakage low, with high stability and low phase change, which adds noticeably to the overall sound quality. Gold-plated CMC terminals complete the picture.

A dedicated XMOS XU208 USB input turns the CD15A into a top-quality DAC for your computer, up to PCM 768kHz/32-bit and DSD256. There is also an optical input, Bluetooth 5.0 reception from phones and tablets via a Qualcomm CSR8675 chip, and a coaxial digital output.
