Read the full description
The HiFiMAN HE1000se (Special Edition) is the third version of HiFiMAN’s acclaimed HE1000 open-back planar headphone. A thinner driver and an all-new neodymium magnet structure raise sensitivity from 91dB to 96dB, so it keeps all the detail and air of the HE1000 v2 with a more immediate, dynamic sound, and works with every kind of source, from audiophile components and hi-res players to tablets and smartphones.
Nanometer-thickness diaphragm
A breakthrough core technology developed by HiFiMAN and a first of its kind in headphones: the diaphragm is only nanometres thick, with a submicron-thickness conductor. It is extremely challenging to work with, but this film is the cornerstone of the HE1000se’s sound, giving a fast response and high dynamic range that bring recordings to life in any genre, from soft acoustic music to high-energy rock.
Stealth Magnets
New neodymium magnets increase efficiency and lower distortion: neodymium gives exceptional magnetic strength in a compact size, so the driver is faster and more dynamic. Their special Stealth shape lets sound waves pass through without interference, greatly reducing the wave diffraction turbulence that degrades sound, for pure, accurate, full-range output.
Patented “window shade” system
Created to protect the driver while keeping the back optimally open, the window shade grille avoids unwanted reflections and vibrations, for a wide, natural soundstage like live music in an acoustically accurate club or hall.
Comfort and craftsmanship
- Asymmetrical ear cups follow the natural shape of the human ear.
- Headband: a steady arch structure gives stability and durability, keeping its fit for years.
- Metal structure: CNC-milled and hand-polished, with the surface finish applied by skilled HiFiMAN craftsmen; a matte finish with ebony wood trim completes the design.
- Sturdy 3.5mm connectors: user-replaceable cables for durability and easy customisation.
Three cables included
The HE1000se comes with three detachable cables with different plugs: 3.5mm, 4-pin XLR balanced and 6.35mm, so it is ready for portable players, balanced amplifiers and desktop gear.
