HiFiMan Ananda Nano High End Planar Headphones

The HiFiMAN Ananda Nano is an open-back planar magnetic headphone that HiFiMAN calls a massive sonic upgrade. At its heart is a Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm based on the famous design of HiFiMAN’s flagship Susvara, combined with acoustically invisible Stealth Magnets, for much lower distortion, faster transients and, HiFiMAN says, double the dynamics and detail. With 14Ω impedance and high sensitivity it is ready to drive from a smartphone or portable player.

A diaphragm based on the Susvara

The Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm (NTD) follows the design of the Susvara, HiFiMAN’s flagship, and is the reason for the Ananda Nano’s much lower distortion, higher transient response and greater dynamics and detail.

Why planar sounds better

In a planar headphone, the conductor that drives the diaphragm is spread evenly over its whole surface, so the electromagnetic force acts far more uniformly than a voice coil does on the cone of a dynamic driver. Phase distortion is much lower and less spatial information is lost, giving a much larger soundstage and better positioning. The Ananda Nano covers 5Hz to 55kHz, and its three-dimensional sound field wraps around your ears, with instruments placed as precisely as at a live performance.

Acoustically invisible Stealth Magnets

Conventional magnets disturb the sound waves passing through them. The special shape of HiFiMAN’s Stealth Magnets lets the waves pass without generating interference: the design is acoustically transparent, dramatically reducing the wave diffraction turbulence that degrades sound, for a pure, accurate, full-range output with less distortion.

Ready to drive from a portable device

High sensitivity lets the Ananda Nano play from virtually any smartphone or portable audio device, with low distortion and excellent sound quality.

Window-shade grille and asymmetrical earcups

HiFiMAN’s window-shade grille greatly reduces sonic reflections for a clearer sound, and asymmetrical earcups follow the natural shape of the human ear.

Hybrid headband and changeable cable

A carefully designed weight-dispersing strap makes the headband comfortable for long listening, and its sleek black finish is paired with metal earcup holders for durability. The cable plugs into a 3.5mm socket on each earcup, so it is easy to replace or upgrade over the life of the headphone.
