FiiO SNOWSKY FH3 LUMI (Deer Song) Vocal Special Edition Triple Driver Earphones

The FiiO SNOWSKY FH3 LUMI (鹿鸣, “Deer Song”) Vocal Special Edition is FiiO’s first stylised concept IEM, born for midrange charm. Tuned together with experienced audiophiles to bring back the warm, analogue vocal flavour of classic CD and cassette players, and the iconic voices of 1980s and 1990s Cantopop and Mandopop, it pairs a 10mm dynamic driver with a natural cashmere and wood-fibre diaphragm with two custom balanced armatures, and a dedicated filter tames sibilance. A shimmering 3D embossed deer on each faceplate, a detachable 2-pin cable and Hi-Res Audio certification complete it.

Retro tuning, created with listeners

Rather than chasing extreme dynamics or clinical resolution, FiiO set out to recreate an elusive “analogue timbre”. For the first time it invited many seasoned audiophiles to take part in the tuning, gathering extensive feedback and studying the sound of classic CD players and cassette decks. Over two years of development, 21 tuning iterations and nearly 100 real-world listening responses, the result is a warm, atmospheric soundstage with effortless vocals that stay comfortable for hours, evoking the music of a golden age.

Three drivers, optimised for the midrange

Each earpiece combines one dynamic driver and two balanced armatures (1DD + 2BA). FiiO concentrated its engineering on the midrange, fine-tuning the crossover frequencies around the bands most critical for vocals, so voices sound three-dimensional and full-bodied. The 10mm dynamic driver restores the warmth and texture of the human voice, while the custom mid and treble balanced armatures, with their own rear chambers and diaphragm materials, open up the mids and keep treble detail and natural extension.

A natural cashmere and wood-fibre diaphragm

The dynamic driver’s diaphragm is made with traditional papermaking techniques: natural animal and plant fibres are finely ground and filtered, then blended with wool fibres to balance rigidity and flexibility. Leaving behind the cold feel of industrial materials, it gives a warm, rich, analogue-like character, with the clarity and resolution for natural, rich vocals that are easy on the ears.

Silky-smooth vocals, without the sibilance

To reduce harsh “s” and “t” sounds while keeping the most captivating vocal detail, FiiO’s engineers developed a dedicated acoustic solution: a high-precision second-order RLC filter circuit isolates the 6–8kHz sibilance band, working with an electronic active notch filter to suppress harshness. Sibilance is tamed, while the extension and rich detail above 8kHz are preserved.

A 3D embossed deer

Each faceplate carries an exquisite three-dimensional embossed deer that shimmers with a silver brilliance reminiscent of a fine art piece, bringing classical aesthetics to your ears and matching the retro sound.

Detachable cable, two sets of ear tips

The detachable 27AWG high-purity oxygen-free copper cable is about 1.2m long, with standard 0.78mm 2-pin connectors, so it is easy to replace or upgrade, and a 3.5mm plug that suits players, dongles, amplifiers and laptops. Two sets of ear tips are included, balanced and vocal, three pairs of each. The FH3 LUMI is Hi-Res Audio certified to the standards of the Japan Audio Society and the Consumer Technology Association, with a frequency response up to 40kHz.
