The Shanling UA3 is a compact portable USB DAC and headphone amp that brings AKM sound to Shanling’s UA range. A new AK4493SEQ DAC and two Ricore RT6863 amplifiers give up to 211mW into 32Ω from the 4.4mm balanced output and 125mW from the 3.5mm, with hardware buttons, a sample-rate light and a high-precision, low-jitter clock, in a 20.5g aluminium body.
Small black beauty
The UA3 is precisely machined from a single block of aluminium with a smooth matte finish, for simple, durable construction. At just 20.5g it is a perfect travel companion.
AKM sound and dedicated amplifiers
The AK4493SEQ finally brings AKM sound to the UA line: Shanling’s house sound at its fullest, natural, warm and smooth, with PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD512. Two Ricore RT6863 amplifiers form a powerful balanced output for clean, dynamic sound and proper drive for a wide range of headphones.
Easy on your phone’s battery
Shanling’s latest USB DAC power management means the UA3 draws far less power from your phone: 60% less in standby and 40% less during playback, according to Shanling’s tests, for better compatibility and longer phone battery life.
Clean and precise
A built-in high-precision clock processes data accurately for better PCM and DSD performance, and an advanced low-dropout regulator gives an extremely black background with no unwanted noise.
Interchangeable cable
A premium copper USB-C to USB-C cable is included, and the standard USB-C socket lets you use any cable to suit your Android phone, computer or iPhone. iPhones with Lightning need a Lightning to USB-C cable (sold separately); Windows needs Shanling’s USB driver, macOS needs none.
Gaming, app and controls
- Gaming: hold the middle button while connecting to switch to UAC 1.0 mode for wider compatibility, including games consoles such as the Nintendo Switch.
- Eddict Player app (Android): six digital filters, gain, button settings and more. Not available on iOS.
- Buttons: control either the UA3’s own hardware volume or your device’s software volume, plus play and pause; hold for 2 seconds to switch between them.
- Sample-rate light: blue 44.1/48kHz, green 88.2/96kHz, yellow 176.4/192kHz, purple 352.8–768kHz, white DSD64–DSD512, red UAC 1.0 mode.
