Shanling MG800 IEMs with Semi-open Acoustic Design

The Shanling MG800 is Shanling’s titanium-shelled flagship single dynamic driver in-ear monitor. An 11mm driver with a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) diaphragm and dual magnets sits in a semi-open shell machined from aviation-grade titanium, for clarity, a lovely midrange and a wide soundstage that stays comfortable over long sessions. Three tuning filters and a Furukawa cable with 2.5, 3.5 and 4.4mm plugs let you shape it to your taste and your player.

Hardened titanium shell

Each shell is 5-axis CNC-machined from aviation-grade titanium and covered with an anti-oxidation layer, making it extremely tough yet lighter than its rivals, ready for years of daily use without a mark. Shanling’s updated, smaller and rounder shape weighs just 6.6g per earphone and fits a wide range of ears comfortably.

11mm driver with a DLC diaphragm

The brand-new 11mm driver uses a rigid carbon-nanotube diaphragm with Diamond-Like Carbon plating, tuned for a wide range of music with proper extension at both ends and high detail retrieval. An ultra-fine Daikoku 0.035mm CCAW voice coil and a dual N48 magnet system give fast transients and accurate sound, and a rear acoustic cavity lets the diaphragm travel more smoothly under better control.

Semi-open design, flexible suspension

The semi-open design balances the pressure for fatigue-free listening and gives a more open sound with a wider soundstage and better dynamics. An independent flexible driver suspension stops unwanted vibration passing between the driver and the shell, for even greater clarity.

Three tuning filters

• Balance (fitted): the default, most universal setting and the best starting point.
• Warm: smoother and bassier, for a jazz atmosphere or to calm hot recordings.
• Clear: brings out instruments and shines with classical music.

Octa-core Furukawa cable

The hybrid cable uses top-quality Japanese Furukawa wire: six cores of high-purity single-crystal copper and two of silver-plated copper, in a coaxial double-layer construction with independent shielding. MMCX connectors and modular 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm plugs let you switch between single-ended and balanced to match anything from a phone to a high-end player.

Made to match Spinfit CP100 ear tips

Shanling used the latest Spinfit CP100 tips as the benchmark during development and includes them as the default, alongside four other types. The MG800 holds Hi-Res Audio certification from the Japan Audio Society, with response up to 40kHz.
