Read the full description
The Shanling ET3 is a compact, top-loading CD transport for anyone who wants to play CDs through a good external DAC. Its Philips SAA7824 drive and Sanyo HD850 laser feed every digital output, including I2S and a rare USB data output, and it upsamples or converts to DSD on the fly. It also plays USB drives and streams over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Classic CD playback, compact body
Shanling has made CD players for over 30 years, and the ET3 pairs a Philips drive system with the proven Sanyo HD850 optical head in a top-loading design for stable, reliable reading. The 188mm-wide case is CNC-machined from a single block of aluminium, with a transparent cover so you can watch the disc spin, and it fits desks, bedside tables and narrow hi-fi racks.
Built for high-end DACs
The I2S and USB outputs carry up to PCM 768kHz/32-bit and DSD512, and coaxial, optical and AES/EBU up to 192kHz and DSD64. A dedicated CT7302CL chip can upsample CDs, files and streams to PCM 768kHz or convert everything to DSD, so you can choose the format your DAC handles best. The ET3 is also a full MQA-CD decoder.
| USB and I2S out | PCM 768kHz/32-bit, DSD512 |
|---|---|
| Coaxial, optical, AES/EBU out | PCM 192kHz, DSD64 |
| Sources | CD, CD-R, CD-RW · USB drive up to 2TB · Wi-Fi (DLNA, AirPlay) · Bluetooth 5.0 (LDAC, AAC, SBC) |
| MQA | Full decoder (176.4kHz to any DAC) or MQA Core (88.2kHz to MQA-capable DACs) |
| Size and weight | 188 × 255 × 68mm (W × D × H), about 2.5kg |
A connected transport
Plug in a USB drive and browse it from the Eddict app on your phone. Over Wi-Fi, the ET3 plays from DLNA apps and AirPlay, and it can even act as a DLNA server for other devices. Bluetooth with LDAC and AAC gives instant access to every app on your phone. A dual-core Ingenic X2000 processor runs a simple interface on the round IPS display, with a multifunction wheel and buttons.
