Read the full description
The Shanling EC Smart is Shanling’s entry-level CD player, made to bring very simple, affordable CD playback to your home: swing the front panel aside, drop in a CD and play. It has a Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC, a headphone output, a line output for active speakers or an amplifier, and Bluetooth 5.4 to send your CDs to wireless speakers. It runs from any 5V USB power source.
Simple CD playback
There are no apps or complicated settings: just a few buttons, a dot-matrix display and an infrared remote. The Sanyo DA11 optical drive sits behind the swing-away control panel. The EC Smart is designed to stand upright with the spinning disc as the centre of attention, but the stand comes off so it can lie on its rear rubber feet for an even more compact set-up. The body and stand are mostly aluminium, with a plastic rear panel, so it fits easily into a wide range of homes.
Sound and outputs
The CS43131 DAC gives a clean, smooth sound, and an SGM8262 headphone amplifier drives the 3.5mm headphone output on the side with 180mW into 32Ω. A 3.5mm line output on the back (2.4Vrms, RCA adapter included) connects to a pair of active monitors or even a full speaker system with a powerful amplifier. Like Shanling’s other new CD players, it also has Bluetooth: pair it with Bluetooth speakers or headphones (SBC) to bring your CD collection into modern wireless audio.
Power it from almost anything
The EC Smart needs only a basic USB power source (5V/2A), so it can run from a phone charger or a USB port on a computer or TV, or even from a power bank if you want to take your CDs to the park or a holiday cottage.
