The iBasso CB19 is a short Y cable: a USB-C to USB-C lead for your dongle DAC, with a USB-A lead for dedicated power. The phone sends the music, while the dongle, such as the iBasso DC-Elite, takes its power from a clean source such as a power bank.
Why power a dongle separately?
Smartphones usually limit the current they give to OTG devices, and there is a lot of interference inside a phone, so powering a dongle from your phone isn’t ideal. With the CB19 your dongle gets better-quality power with minimal interference, your phone’s battery isn’t drained, and you get the best performance from both the phone and the dongle.
