Read the full description
The HiFiMAN HE-R10D is the wired dynamic version of HiFiMAN’s HE-R10: a closed-back headphone with large CNC-carved wooden earcups and a 50mm dynamic driver using HiFiMAN’s Topology diaphragm, designed for a natural, detailed sound with the isolation of a closed back. HiFiMAN describes it as respecting a classic model and surpassing its performance.
Room to breathe
The wooden earcups’ large internal space gives the powerful driver the volume and “breathing room” it needs.
The Topology diaphragm
The diaphragm carries a special nanoparticle coating applied in patterns on its surface, for a more natural, detailed sound. The idea came from HiFiMAN founder Dr Fang Bian’s PhD thesis: different nano materials have different structures, each with its own properties, so by carefully controlling the structure of the diaphragm’s surface, HiFiMAN can tune its acoustic performance to a degree previously unobtainable.
A 50mm dynamic driver
A rare-earth magnet gives the 50mm driver high sensitivity, an advanced voice coil drives it, and the Topology diaphragm extends the detailed treble to 30kHz.
Wood and aviation aluminium
HiFiMAN calls it the CNC carving art of wood and aviation aluminium: the earcups are CNC-carved from wood, with aviation-grade aluminium parts.
Wired connection
The supplied 1.5m cable plugs into a single 3.5mm socket in the left earcup (a 3.5mm TRRS balanced socket), with a 3.5mm plug and a 6.35mm adapter for home amplifiers. HiFiMAN’s Bluemini R2R Bluetooth adapter can also connect to the left socket; it is not included with this wired version.
