Read the full description
The HiFiMAN Ananda is a full-size open-back planar magnetic headphone built for “efficient planar performance”: the culmination of years of development, its lightweight, ultra-fine planar drivers sing with agility and power. With HiFiMAN’s Stealth Magnets, the NEO supernano diaphragm and 93dB sensitivity, it sounds good from a desktop amplifier and can also be driven by virtually any smartphone or portable player.
High sensitivity
Its high sensitivity for a planar lets you use it with virtually any smartphone or portable device, with low distortion and excellent sound, and it is a natural companion for portable players wherever you are.
Why planar
In a planar magnetic driver the conductor is spread across the whole diaphragm, so the film is driven evenly rather than at one point as in a dynamic driver, and the moving parts weigh far less. The result is lower distortion, quick, detailed treble, better imaging and a natural soundstage.
Stealth Magnets
The special shape of HiFiMAN’s Stealth Magnets lets sound waves pass through without interference. The design is acoustically transparent, greatly reducing the wave diffraction turbulence that degrades sound, for pure, accurate, full-range output.
NEO supernano diaphragm
“Hear what you have been missing”: the NsD is 80% thinner than HiFiMAN’s earlier designs, just 1 to 2 microns thick, for a faster, more detailed response with lush musicality. HiFiMAN advanced its manufacturing processes to make this planar driver at a remarkable price.
Built for comfort
- Window-shade grille: greatly reduces sonic reflections for clearer sound.
- Asymmetrical ear cups: follow the natural shape of the ear, with thick, bevelled, asymmetrical pads that contour to your head for long sessions.
- Hybrid headband: a weight-spreading strap for long-term comfort, with a sleek matte black finish and metal construction for durability.
- Updated 3.5mm connectors: HiFiMAN’s most robust headphone connectors, for durability and longevity. The cable is user-replaceable, with L and R marked inside the headband.
