FiiO Snowsky Nature Hi-Fi Over-Ear Headphones

The FiiO SNOWSKY NATURE is a lightweight, closed-back over-ear headphone that, in FiiO’s words, doesn’t chase specs for the sake of specs. Guided by a “sound quality first” philosophy, its budget goes where it matters most: a 50mm dynamic driver with a Japanese carbon-black diaphragm, a high-performance magnet and voice coil, and a tuning refined through nearly 1,000 listener responses. It is easy to drive from a phone, weighs 280g, has a detachable dual 3.5mm cable with a microphone and remote, and wears wood-grain faceplates in black or apricot.

A Japanese carbon-black diaphragm

At the heart of the NATURE is a Japanese carbon-black diaphragm: a 19µm PET layer gives a rigid foundation, and a 30µm TPU layer adds high-damping compliance, striking a balance between firmness and flexibility. Together they remove the metallic and plastic colouration of lesser drivers, for lower distortion, deeper bass, smoother highs, a flatter response and a cleaner, more natural sound. Compared with standard headphones, FiiO measures 30% more driver excursion and 15–25% lower distortion. The diaphragm resists UV and hydrolysis, and passed fatigue tests of at least 100,000 cycles with less than 5% change in performance under high temperature and humidity (FiiO Acoustic Labs).

Magnet and voice coil in harmony

A high-strength magnet and a high-tension copper-wire voice coil work precisely with the diaphragm for linear, stable output. The result is fast transient response and control with low distortion, so subtle details and big passages alike come through, with a layered soundstage, authoritative yet transparent bass and silky treble.

Easy to drive from anything

With a light diaphragm, a precise voice coil and an efficient magnetic circuit, the NATURE (24Ω, 101dB/mW) sounds full and satisfying even from phones and portable players, with no elaborate setup. A portable USB DAC/amp dongle makes it sound even better.

Tuned for a natural sound

FiiO’s tuning team benchmarked the NATURE against the best in its class and asked seasoned audiophiles and respected audio voices to listen. It went through 8 rounds of driver parameter iterations and 15 rounds of acoustic chamber refinement, and nearly 1,000 pieces of listener feedback across every genre shaped the final sound: natural, effortlessly listenable and true to the music.

Dual 3.5mm cable: calls now, balanced later

Dual 3.5mm TRS sockets let you use single-ended or balanced cables. The included 1.5m oxygen-free copper cable has a microphone and in-line remote, ready for music, calls and gaming: press once to play or pause, twice for the next track and three times for the previous one (on iPhone; on other devices, the functions depend on their support for single-button remotes). Built for hours of comfort

At just 280g, the NATURE is light enough for long sessions. The self-adjusting sliding headband adapts to your head to reduce pressure, the ergonomic aluminium alloy yokes keep it stable, and earpads of premium leather and high-resilience foam are soft and help the open, natural soundstage. The pads twist and click off for easy cleaning or replacement; FiiO’s HS-JT1B mesh pads fit for a more breathable feel.

Inspired by the forest

The faceplates are high-rigidity ABS engineering plastic, finished by precise water-transfer printing that recreates clear, organic wood grain, and the acoustic chambers suppress vibration and noise. Metal, wood grain and soft leather come together in a timeless retro design. The black edition has a deep black base with an ebony shimmer and fine golden threads through the grain; the apricot edition keeps the light tone and natural grain of Douglas fir for a clean, soft look.
