The FiiO LX-4.4M is a balanced adapter from a 4-pin XLR plug to a 4.4mm socket: a “hi-fi baton” that lets headphones with a 4.4mm balanced plug connect to an amplifier or DAC with a 4-pin XLR headphone output.
Different plugs, easily bridged
Most traditional balanced desktop equipment uses the 4-pin XLR connector, while some newer audiophile equipment uses the 4.4mm balanced connector, so new and old equipment don’t always fit together. The LX-4.4M converts directly between the two standard balanced connectors and keeps the connection balanced.
