FiiO EH13 Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones

The FiiO EH13 are wireless noise-cancelling over-ear headphones with genuine hi-fi credentials. Hybrid ANC removes up to 42dB of noise, 40mm drivers with sapphire-coated diaphragms keep distortion low, and Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC brings hi-res wireless sound, backed by both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certifications. The battery lasts up to 75 hours, they connect to two devices at once, fold up for travel and also work with a cable.

40mm drivers with sapphire-coated diaphragms

Large 40mm dynamic drivers reproduce everything from the sweep of an orchestra to the nuances of a voice with clarity. Their diaphragms combine a sapphire-coated dome with a PEEK+PU composite surround. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness, and its high elastic modulus of 400GPa makes the dome much stiffer, suppressing break-up at high speeds: FiiO measured 30% lower distortion, for delicate, detailed treble. Precision embossing sharpens transient response and helps the diaphragm withstand the negative pressure of noise cancelling, extending its life. The PEEK+PU surround supports the rest of the diaphragm and improves bass extension and quantity, which also strengthens the noise cancelling.

Up to 42dB of hybrid noise cancelling

Feed-forward and feedback microphones work together, driven by a high-performance chip and precise algorithms, to filter out up to 42dB of ambient noise (FiiO Labs figure) while preserving your music. It is especially effective against the low-frequency rumble of planes and trains. Choose from three noise cancelling levels, from a roaring jet engine to a quiet office, and switch with one press to transparency mode when you need to hear what’s going on around you. A DSP compensates the sound in real time, so it stays rich and stable whether ANC is on or off.

Clear calls with five microphones

Five built-in microphones and smart ENC (environmental noise cancellation) algorithms pick out your voice and suppress city noise and wind, so calls sound close and natural.

LDAC hi-res wireless, two devices at once

Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC carries up to 990kbps, roughly three times standard SBC or AAC, for a wider frequency response and more detail. It needs a source that supports LDAC, uses slightly more battery, is on by default and can be turned off in the FiiO Control app. The EH13 stays connected to two devices, such as your phone and laptop, so you can move between films, games and calls without pairing again.

Wired too, with the same sound

Plug in the supplied 3.5mm cable to use the EH13 wired. Its DSP compensation keeps the same sound signature in wired and wireless use, as long as the headphones are switched on; the light turns purple in wired mode.

75 hours of battery and a folding design

A 2-hour charge gives up to 75 hours of playback with ANC off, or up to 45 hours with it on (FiiO Labs figures). The earcups rotate and fold into a compact shape that spreads pressure evenly so the headband doesn’t deform in your bag. Earcup pressure is about 4.2N.

Make it sound your way

The FiiO Control app offers professionally tuned presets such as Pop, Rock and Classical, a 10-band EQ with three savable custom curves, a gaming mode that brings out footsteps and gunfire (with the noise-cancelling microphone for team chat), and a cinema mode with stronger dynamics, deep bass and clear dialogue.

Simple controls

A control button handles power, play/pause, calls and your voice assistant (double-tap). The ANC button cycles through ANC on, transparency and ANC off. The + and − buttons change the volume with a tap and skip tracks with a long press. An RGB light shows pairing, charging and wired mode, and the codec in use: white for LDAC, blue for SBC.

Good to know

• LDAC needs a phone or player that supports it (most Android phones do); iPhones connect over SBC.
