Dunu KIMA Classic High-Performance 10mm Dual-Cavity Dynamic Driver In Ear Earphones

The DUNU Kima Classic is a redesign of DUNU’s Kima in-ear earphones: in DUNU’s words, the same legendary performance with an all-new tuning profile, a facelift and a new cable. A single 10mm dual-cavity dynamic driver with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) diaphragm sits in sandblasted metal alloy shells in coffee grey, with gold-plated brass nozzles. Where the original Kima was balanced with a hint of warmth, the Classic lifts the low end and the treble for a more vivid sound that complements pop music well, and DUNU’s improved tuning makes it cleaner and more transparent.

10mm dual-cavity dynamic driver

Each side has a large, high-performance 10mm dynamic driver with a resonance chamber dual-cavity design. It combines a latest-generation DLC diaphragm, a strong magnetic circuit with N52 neodymium magnets and a high-tension, ultra-fine voice coil. Compared with traditional DLC drivers, DUNU says this newly developed driver sounds cleaner and more natural. With the metal cavities, a precisely designed acoustic structure and DUNU’s professional tuning, the result is a clean, natural sound with ultra-low harmonic distortion.

Airflow control

To keep the air pressure inside the shell balanced, and give a comfortable fit without a vacuum effect, the Kima Classic uses a high-airflow design with micro-controlled airflow: a microcontroller sits between the air vents of the front and rear chambers.

Light and shadow

The shells are made with high-precision melting and casting moulds from a high-density metal alloy, then finished with a specially selected sandblasting process for a textured, matte finish. Their 3D shape catches light and shadow differently as the angle changes: the faceplate is split into four asymmetric inclined planes, divided by K-shaped raised lines. They are compact, light and ergonomically shaped for a comfortable fit.

Silver-plated single-crystal copper cable

The detachable cable has four strands of high-purity, silver-plated single-crystal copper in a Litz-braided structure, for high-resolution sound. It is light, with standard 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and a 3.5mm single-ended plug. DUNU includes its S&S (Stage & Studio) and Candy ear tips as standard.

Good to know

• In the box: Kima Classic earphones, 4-strand silver-plated copper cable, three pairs of Candy narrow-bore tips, three pairs of S&S wide-bore tips and three pairs of black narrow-bore tips (each S/M/L), 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter, cleaning brush, grey cleaning cloth and zipped storage case (11.5 × 7.5 × 3.5cm).
• For calls, any 0.78mm 2-pin cable with a microphone fits, such as the FiiO LS-3.5B.
