Read the full description
The DUNU EST 112 is a quad-driver, triple-hybrid in-ear monitor, and the first tribrid DUNU made. The name gives the driver line-up per side: one 13.5mm dynamic woofer, one Knowles balanced armature and two Sonion electrostatic (EST) drivers. They sit in light, precision-machined aluminium alloy shells with stainless steel faceplates, tuned for a relaxing, gentle sound that is still lively and resolving. DUNU set out to make it an ideal mix of promise, performance, practicality and price.
Three types of driver
13.5mm dynamic woofer. Its diaphragm uses the third generation of DUNU’s own dual-sided beryllium coating. The deposited beryllium is thicker than before, with a finer, more regular grain, so bass and lower mids keep their palpable texture and separation with very low distortion.
Knowles balanced armature. A single custom Knowles mid-high driver anchors the response, with transparent, reference-style mids and lively, high-resolution vocals, before handing over to the treble.
Two Sonion EST drivers. Electrostatic drivers were once found only in high-end headphones; DUNU uses two from Sonion, a renowned driver maker, for smooth, elegant and detailed highs and ultra-highs.
Aluminium shells
An all-new shell houses the re-engineered driver circuitry. It is machined from lightweight, durable aluminium alloy and finished with a scratch-resistant gunmetal anodise, and polished stainless steel faceplates give it a simple, timeless look.
DUW-02S cable with Quick-Switch plugs
Like other DUNU earphones, the EST 112 comes with a quality cable and a generous fit kit. The DUW-02S is a Litz-braided, 4-core version of DUNU’s silver-plated copper DUW-02, in high-purity monocrystalline copper, with DUNU’s patented Quick-Switch modular plug system. As well as the standard 3.5mm single-ended plug, 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced plugs are included.
