FiiO SR11 Desktop Streaming Music Receiver

The FiiO SR11 is a compact network streamer, or streaming music receiver, that turns the DAC you already own into a hi-fi streaming system. It is Roon Ready and supports AirPlay, connects by gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi, and sends lossless music out over USB-A, USB-C, coaxial or optical, up to 768kHz/32-bit and DSD256 over USB. Firmware updates have added Bluetooth reception, local playback, DLNA and over-the-air updates. A custom LCD, a knob and an infrared remote make it easy to use, and it holds Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification and VGP awards in 2023 and 2025.

A streamer for your DAC

The SR11 is a high-performance lossless streaming receiver. It has no DAC of its own: pair it with an external DAC or a DAC/amp and it sends the music to it digitally, so you can build a streaming hi-fi system and enjoy high-bitrate lossless audio.

Roon Ready

With Roon you can manage online and local music libraries together, play local music from a NAS or other device, and browse streaming catalogues easily. If you have several systems, Roon can play different or the same music on each, for a fully integrated streaming set-up.

AirPlay

Pair an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac or Mac mini and stream to the SR11 by AirPlay, from apps such as Apple Music, FiiO Music, Spotify and TIDAL. iOS converts all AirPlay audio to 44.1kHz, so the SR11 shows 44.1kHz whatever the original track.

More with firmware V630

The V630 firmware adds Bluetooth reception, local playback (with the FiiO Control app), DLNA casting, FiiO Link and over-the-air updates: check for new versions by selecting “OTA CHK” in the menu while connected. FiiO suggests checking your SR11 is on V630 or later when you receive it. DLNA is experimental: because of Android policies, some apps may have problems during long playback, which you can reduce by allowing the sending device full background activity, turning off its battery optimisation and keeping its screen on.

Every digital output

Optical, coaxial, USB-A and USB-C outputs let you connect almost any DAC. Over USB it outputs PCM from 44.1kHz to 768kHz and DSD64 to DSD256 (DoP); coaxial carries up to 192kHz and DSD64, and optical up to 192kHz. The two USB outputs can both be connected, but only one plays at a time: the first device connected is used. A separate USB-C port is for power.

Fast, stable networking

The Ethernet port runs at up to 1000Mbps for fast, stable data, and the AP6256 Wi-Fi module supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz for stable lossless streaming without wires. Plug in an Ethernet cable and the SR11 sets up the network itself; Wi-Fi is set up by following the quick start guide or FiiO’s video. You can set up both, and the SR11 uses the wired connection whenever the cable is plugged in, switching to Wi-Fi when it isn’t.

Ingenic X2000 processor

The X2000 multi-core processor, with an XBurst2 dual-logic core and an XBurst0 small core, combines strong computing power and real-time control with ultra-low power use, for precise processing and stable, smooth playback.

Screen, knob and remote

The custom LCD shows the working mode, network status and volume at a glance, and the knob makes every operation easy. In MIX mode, you can stream by either Roon or AirPlay, one at a time. The included infrared remote needs no pairing and selects inputs and outputs and sets the volume from across the room.

Slim and easy to place

The slim aluminium alloy body has a separately moulded silicone anti-slip pad for stability, and takes up so little space that it fits easily beside your DAC.

Good to know

• The SR11 has no DAC or headphone output, and it can’t be used as a USB DAC for a computer or phone. Connect it to a DAC such as the FiiO K11.
• DSD from Roon is sent as DoP. Over USB the screen shows the DoP rate your DAC accepts (typically half the native DSD rate); over S/PDIF it is always DSD64.
• No sound? Check that the SR11 and your phone or player are on the same network, the SR11’s mode matches how you are streaming, and its output (USB, coaxial or optical) matches your DAC’s input.
