The Shanling M7T is a mid-range Android music player with AKM’s flagship DAC system, an AK4191 modulator with two AK4498EX DACs, and a pair of JAN6418 valves you can switch in or out. It delivers 980mW into 32Ω from the balanced output, runs Android 13, and lasts up to 14.5 hours on its 7,000mAh battery.
AKM’s new DAC system
The AK4191 delta-sigma modulator feeds two AK4498EX DACs, for native DSD1024 and PCM up to 768kHz/32-bit. A custom FPGA with Japanese KDS oscillators at 90.3168MHz and 98.304MHz, running Shanling’s fourth-generation algorithm, reduces jitter. Shanling’s CPAF low-pass filter pairs OPA2211 op-amps with Panasonic tantalum capacitors.
Tube or transistor
Two low-voltage JAN6418 valves sit in a custom anti-shock suspension that keeps microphonics to a minimum. Tube mode adds warmth and softens edges, while transistor mode focuses on clarity and detail. The headphone amplifier pairs two MUSES8920 op-amps with four BUF634A buffers, with Panasonic, Nichicon and Silmic II capacitors.

A modern player
The unibody chassis is milled from magnesium-aluminium alloy. Shanling’s AGLO (Android Global Lossless Output) bypasses Android’s sample-rate conversion for bit-perfect playback from streaming apps. Two-way Bluetooth lets the M7T stream to wireless headphones, or act as a Bluetooth DAC for your phone.

- Shanling rates the valves for about 5,000 hours. They switch off automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity.
