Read the full description

The FiiO RETRO BOX is a cassette-style desktop Bluetooth speaker custom-tailored for FiiO’s JM21, M21 and M33 music players. Seat your player in the front and, once connected over Bluetooth, it becomes a retro tape-deck speaker system, an upgrade to your everyday listening as well as a stand for your player. Two 40mm drivers and two passive radiators deliver 5W + 5W, Bluetooth 6.0 brings LDAC, a USB DAC mode turns it into computer speakers, and the battery lasts about 10.5 hours.

Made for FiiO players

The dock at the front holds a JM21, M21 or M33-series player (an insert for the M21 and JM21 is included), and a push-to-release mechanism makes it easy to lift out. With the player’s cassette-style screen in place, the speaker looks like a classic tape deck on your desk.

Dual-chamber 2 + 2 acoustics

Two dedicated 40mm full-range drivers (4Ω) and two passive radiators sit in separate chambers, which keeps the sound crisp and free of crosstalk. They fire to the sides, leaving room for the player and spreading rich, immersive sound around the room so that every seat is the sweet spot.

Relentless power, lasting impact

Two 18500 batteries in parallel keep internal resistance low and give the two-channel amplifier plenty of power: 5W + 5W continuous, so the 40mm drivers can deliver full-bodied, punchy sound with impressive dynamic range. A charge lasts about 10.5 hours and takes about 2.5 hours.

Bluetooth or USB DAC

In Bluetooth mode, Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC gives refined, near-lossless sound wirelessly, from your FiiO player or any phone. In USB DAC mode, connect it to a desktop or laptop for wired listening through proper speakers, with driver-free UAC 1.0 at 44.1, 48 and 96kHz. The USB port carries power as well as data, so the speaker charges or draws power when connected; FiiO doesn’t recommend connecting it to phones or tablets, to avoid draining them.

Four sound presets and thoughtful details

A built-in DSP gives four sound presets, HiFi, Retro, Pop and Warm: press the volume knob to switch. The 360° rotary knob and physical buttons are easy to use by touch, a silicon microphone on top handles calls and voice assistants, and anti-vibration feet keep the speaker steady at volume. In the FiiO Control app you can set a custom EQ, switch the Bluetooth codec and update the firmware.
