Carbon-fibre shells keep them light at about 7g each, and swappable 3.5mm, 4.4mm and USB-C plugs suit any source.

Seven drivers, each with a job

The dynamic driver’s lithium-magnesium diaphragm, at 1.6g/cm³, is lighter and stiffer than beryllium according to FiiO, with a flexible surround for low distortion and natural vocals and instruments. One Knowles armature is tuned for clear upper mids that blend smoothly with the electrostatics; the other has a vented back chamber for fuller lower mids, which suits pop vocals. The four Sonion EST65QB02 electrostatics give an airy, open treble. A new RLC second-order band-stop filter removes resonance peaks from the drivers and shell, for a smooth treble that stays easy to listen to.

Tuned shells

FiiO’s patented S.Turbo sound tube in the front chamber adds bass weight and punch and filters excess upper frequencies from the dynamic driver, and micro vents in the rear chamber balance the pressure for deeper bass and clear vocals. The shells are hand-laminated carbon fibre, light and rigid at 1.58g/cm³, so every pair has its own grain.

Drivers

1 × 10mm lithium-magnesium dynamic · 2 × Knowles BA · 4 × Sonion electrostatic

Frequency response

10Hz–40kHz

Impedance and sensitivity

20Ω · 106dB/mW @ 1kHz

Cable

6N single-crystal copper, silver-plated, cryo-treated · about 1.2m · 0.78mm 2-pin

Plugs

Swappable 3.5mm, 4.4mm balanced and USB-C DAC

Weight

About 7g per earpiece, without the cable

Colour

Dusk Brown; the carbon-fibre pattern is different on every pair

Cable and accessories

The cable is 6N single-crystal copper, silver-plated and cryogenically treated at −192°C for more than 100 hours, and its twist-lock plugs swap between 3.5mm, 4.4mm balanced and a USB-C DAC plug for phones.
