The iBasso DC05 is a powerful portable DAC, with USB-C input, ideal to accompany a recent smartphone not having a 3.5mm jack output and allowing to enjoy a rich, precise and musical sound reproduction. Its digital/analogue conversion stage embeds a pair of 32bit DAC ES9219C. They integrate the Quad DAC+ technology as well as a headphone amplifier and a dynamic range enhancement (DRE). The combination of Quad DAC+, Time Domain Jitter Eliminator and HyperStream III architecture delivers a dynamic range of 121dB and an excellent THD+N level. A design that also allows the DC05 to support high sampling rates, up to PCM 32bit 384kHz and DSD256.
The iBasso DC05, successor to the DC03, is largely based on the principle of its predecessor, making a modification in the conversion/amplification stage, as well as in the output and improving in power thanks to its double ES9219C DAC chip. As compact and powerful as ever, the DC05 is ideal to accompany a smartphone equipped with a USB-C output but without a 3.5mm connector.
The iBasso DC05 adapter cable for smartphones, amplifier and DAC is intended for audiophiles who want to use a new generation smartphone (without hardware analogue output) as a compact and portable hi-fi audio source. It will allow you to enjoy your music in very high quality anywhere. With the new iBasso DC05, take your computer or phone to new musical dimensions.
Powerful output voltage
iBasso DC05 houses a 3.5mm single-ended output port that delivers clean and powerful output. It has up to 140mW output power rating at 16Ω of load, at 32Ω DC05 provides up to 93mW of power, which is more than enough to power your IEMs and low-power requiring headphones without trouble. DC05 has an ultra-low output impedance of less than 0.5Ω making it suitable for sensitive pairs too!!
Precise volume adjustment
Windows 10 and Android 5.0 (or higher) support the UAC2.0 protocol by default. However, for compatibility reasons, Android smartphone manufacturers continue to use the SRC protocol for audio output.
When the iBasso DC05 is connected, the volume is set to maximum by default and the device software algorithm is used to reduce the volume. Although this method reduces the volume, it does not reduce the noise floor.
Therefore, iBasso has developed a volume control application that uses the UAC2.0 protocol to enable 64-step volume control by hardware, while lowering the noise floor and providing much better audio performance.
Full MQA Decoding Support & High-Res Signal Decoding
DC05 brings high-resolution MQA decoding right at your smartphone. It supports full MQA decoding ensuring the users a pure sound performance as the artist intended. It also has full support for 32-Bit/384kHz PCM and native DSD256 decoding.
