FiiO E17K (Alpen 2) Portable Headphone Amplifier with USB DAC
The FiiO E17K is a portable lightweight brushed metal headphone amplifier and digital to analogue converter (DAC). The E17K model is FiiO's replacement of the very popular E17. The E17K features a control wheel for volume adjustment, an upgrade in the DAC specifications as well as new headphone amp components. It's also thinner and more powerful than the E17.
The E17K has fewer buttons on the front than that of its predecessor the E17 making it much sleeker and easier to use. It features a new multi-functional wheel that responds to both turns and clicks, providing an intuitive agile control replacing many buttons from the older model.
The all-new E17K utilises the SA 9027 USB receiver, allowing the E17K to be used as an external sound card for your computer. This supports up to 96 kHz/32bit playback and DSD decoding* . The FiiO E17K exploits TI's all-new PCM5102, which processes higher S/N ratio, lower distortion and more linear digital-analog conversion characteristics. Also added to the new E17K is the TI's flagship OPA1622, as a low pass filter and OPA1642+LMH6643 in an OP+BUF architecture usually only seen in high end units.

The E17K expands on the industry standard Micro USB socket to not only provide charging and data exchange connectivity, but also to dock with FiiO's future desktop products. There is also a coaxial digital input supporting up to 192kHz / 24 bit PCM input (305mm to coaxial converter plug included) and dual function line in / line out port for maximum convenience and operational value for money.
The E17K is a particularly strong offering from FiiO, a company already renowned for their superb amplifiers and DACs. This little portable unit is ready to take on all your top headphones.
