Ever since the X-Mini Capsule Speaker appeared in 2008, we have been completely blown away by the absolutely astounding sound quality and volume that these little gems produce! So when we heard that XMI the company responsible for the X-Mini, was launching a new version, we were suitably excited!

We are very glad to report that the X-Mini II doesn't disappoint, again the boffins have succeeded in getting a Quart out of a Pint pot!

Retaining all of the best features from the groundbreaking first generation unit, the second generation comes with a number of innovations that combine to create a greater audio experience for the user.

Larger Driver.

The first and most recognisable difference with the X-Mini II is that it's slighly larger than the original model. The X-Mini II now boasts a 40mm driver, that delivers an even richer and fuller sound.

Longer Battery Life.

The X-Mini II now boasts an improved battery life, a staggering 11 hours of continuous playback from just one charge.

"Buddy Jack" Design.

A brand new feature to the X-Mini II is the "Buddy Jack" system. This allows you to connect one X-Mini II to another and another and... well, you get the picture. Capable of forming a near endless "Daisy Chain". Combine your X-Mini II with your friend's for quite simply jaw dropping audio!

Built In 3.5mm Audio Connection.

The refinement of the original X-Mini continues with the inclusion of an inbuilt 3.5mm audio connection cable. No more running the risk of forgetting to pack the charging/connection lead when you leave... the connection cable is always in reach. The audio cable neatly slips away underneath the speaker when not in use.

	Technology with Jason Slater "This was a reddot design award winner in 2008 and it shows – the X-mini looks pretty stylish – with a red chrome-like recess in the top of the unit and a pleasing overall design. You might think this little fellow is going to set you back quite a bit – but you may be surprised to find it can be picked up for under £20. 	Paras Shah(Date Added: Thursday 05 January, 2012) After reading rave reviews i thought i'd buy one and see what the hype was about. overall i've got to say i'm fairly impressed. im not an audiophile but i certainly like high quality sound. the speaker is very compact and surprisingly loud. overall the sound quality is very good (maybe not quite as good as i was expecting/hoping) but good nevertheless. it struggles a bit at very loud volumes and loses some clarity but performs well at more regular volumes. bass is pretty decent too. i particularly like the daisy chain feature, the neat design and good battery life on offer. For the price i paid (less than the £25 it currently is), i'd definitely recommend it.
	Dr Rover(Date Added: Friday 30 December, 2011) A friend of mine recommended the X-Mini II and I wanted one but was bought a KITSound stereo speaker set as a gift. I think the X-Mini II is better than the KITSound - even though it's only mono, the unit is smaller, has punchier sound and the integral lead is a bonus compared to the KITSound where the lead is separate and gets lost... Works well with everyone's MP3 players and so keeps "going missing" thanks to the rest of the family. Now regretting I didn't buy two and hide one!

	Sean Passingham(Date Added: Friday 14 October, 2011) Bought one of these based on reviews I read elsewhere and I'm torn, on one hand it's excellently designed and very handy but the sound quality doesn't match the hype it's received. I've tried outputs from a decent amp, an ipod touch line out, an ipod touch line out with headphone amp, from an Xfi pro. sound card and from my work PC's in built audio and it doesn't sound any better than my laptop speakers, worse still, the max volume is far too low and increasing the input level does very little other than introduce distortion. Despite all of that, I still like it, it'll be great for gardening or camping etc. and I'll probably end up buying another 1 just to see if 2 chained together improve the audio at all.
