The Pure Highway is a unique, easy to fit in-car DAB digital radio that also enables you to listen to your iPod/MP3 player.
DAB digital radio brings you more stations including BBC 7, BBC Five Live Sports Extra, Planet Rock and theJazz. National AM stations such as talkSPORT, Virgin and BBC Five Live are also broadcast in crisp, clear digital-quality DAB.
Highway is packed with great, easy-to-use features such as ReVu™, which allows you to pause and skip back through live DAB radio, quickSCAN to find free FM transmission frequencies, and 4 FM transmission presets (synchronize these with your car radio’s FM presets to make avoiding interference a breeze). You can even take Highway from the car when your journey’s over and carry on listening using headphones (headphones not included).
Whether you want to enjoy the digital stations in-car that you do at home, listen to your iPod/MP3 player on the move, or just discover DAB, Highway brings a lot more entertainment to your journey.
Register Hardware (Rating 85%): "Pure's Highway, a really easy to install and use package, delivers all the joys of digital radio into a car. Sound quality on DAB is excellent, and the addition of the compatibility with personal music players might seem obvious, but it's no less welcome and no less useful for that. Retailing at around £70, its price is pretty keen too, and much cheaper than ripping your FM receiver out and retro fitting a completely new set-up..."Click here for full reviewRadio Today Review: "To conclude, the PURE Highway is an impressive radio if you don't already have in-car DAB. The sensitivity is far from amazing, but at £70, it really is a steal (and to be honest, you're probably not going to get any better results with other windscreen-mount aerials). If you already own a personal/handheld DAB, you may decide the PURE Highway is not worth the effort, as the benefits aren't particularly great and you're probably better off with the convenience and the size of the handheld. But if sound quality is important to you, then I would recommend getting the PURE Highway, regardless. I applaud PURE for bringing out a convenient in-car DAB adaptor for the masses!..."Click here for full review Stuff.tv Review (Rating 5/5): "Being able to use the Highway as an FM MP3 streamer is a great idea, the sort of thing you'd need to pay five times as much for in a sat-nav. You can pause and rewind DAB broadcasts too – though it's best to do this during your tea-break at the service station..."Click here for full review What Hi-fi? Review (Rating 5/5): "The sound quality is very good too, at least as good as the FM our car is capable of anyway, plus of course you get all those extra stations – and crystal-clear Radio Five Live. Extra features such as pause and rewind and a socket for you to plug an MP3 player into are real winners..."Click here for full review

Nice concept but... Why buy a DAB radio? Two reasons, more stations and quality audio. Does this deliver? Well for sure the station count went up but I found that I had noticeable background hiss using the FM transmit feature, more than I got on the old steam FM radio. Not a terrible amount but isn't this supposed to be hiss free? Maybe a feature of cars with the radio aerial built into the rear windscreen as it did seem better when I moved it to the rear seat area, however sliding into the back seat to change channels probably isn't too practical! I also found the clutter of wires needed to make it work in-car unacceptable, You *have* to have the 12v adapter plugged in if you want to use the FM transmitter feature, that with the stick on window aerial and the less than delicate window mount make a quite neat & tidy unit spread out like a demented octopus. Maybe I'm fussy but this isn't for me.
My husband loved this gadget as the radio in his car is naff! The quality is good and most places seem to have a signal, this can only get better. I'd give it 5*
This is a fantastic gadget for those who want the quality of DAB in their car. It really is very easy to set up and once tuned into the car radio, works very well. It is also great to be able to play my ipod through the Highway. On the down side, it doesn't always find a station when the car if first started and has to be nudged into action by switching off and back on again. However, this could be because of the reception in my area. Also, the wires though easy to fit are a little messy. Overall I would say this is well worth the money.
